Does NEC offer only temporary jobs?

NEC offers several kinds of working opportunities. As an NEC associate, you will have career flexibility and variety, you may choose to be assigned to a number of clients in temporary positions or stay with one client whenever possible. Some of our temporary assignments may also be part of our Temp-to-Hire program in which a client will consider you for a full-time regular position while you work as a temporary employee for a 90 day period, offering both you and the client a chance to determine whether a particular job is a good fit. Finally, we have a Direct Hire program in which our staff interviews and places candidates directly into regular employment positions. In that case you would be an employee of the client not of NEC.

We offer high quality administrative opportunities, including clerical, secretarial and finance positions. We also offer call center, accounting, CDL drivers, and light industrial jobs, including distribution and light technical positions.

What should I bring to my NEC interview?

When you come for an interview at NEC, bring a copy of your resume or a list of your job history, any employment references with phone numbers. Also a valid identification card that is not expired and your social security card that will show that you have a right to work in the U.S.

Our clients offer a variety of assignments from part-time work, to 40-hour-per-week long-term positions. If you want to work full-time, we will commit to doing our best to keep you busy and consistently employed.

When I work as a temporary employee with NEC, who is my employer?

We are! NEC will be your employer and provide you with benefits and a weekly paycheck that already deducts your taxes. The placement consultant at your NEC branch office will also stay in contact with you to help you with any questions that might arise about your assignment, your paycheck and/or any other issues affecting your work and career.

It depends on the needs of our clients as well as your marketability, including your skills, availability, and flexibility. Some new employees are offered assignments immediately.
